With that out of the way, we can talk about what Big Game Hunter 2010 actually is, and that’s an arcade-style shooting experience that takes you through twelve story missions and offers seven shooting gallery challenges. A narrative is built into the game to string things together in a more meaningful way, though none of it is particularly memorable. You play as marksman Jack Wilde who’s in the process of being recruited by an organization called The Royal Ancient Order of Orion. They stay in contact with you via radio, dropping you into new territories across the world like mountainous regions of Canada, the deserts of Argentina, New Zealand, and Tanzania, amongst others. You’re then told to find various animals, and it’s your duty to kill them if you ever want to be accepted by the hunting world’s high society.

The process of tracking down European Hare, Fallow Deer, Red Stags, Indian Water Buffalo, Snow Sheep, and many other types of wildlife is fairly straightforward. You don’t have animal calls or many other hunting tools aside from an impressive loadout of weaponry, which includes a rifle with a scope, a bigger rifle with a scope, a .44 Magnum pistol with a scope, and a shotgun (surprisingly without a scope). If you’re thinking that sounds a little bit like overkill… well, you’re right. Remember, this game is not trying to be realistic.

Each mission progresses in a linear fashion. Though the maps are built with high rock and invisible walls set a decent distance apart, they’re still essentially corridors that funnel you from one grazing area to the next. During the later stages things do open up a little bit, but you’ll never spend too much time trying to locate your prey. The occasional animal track or tuft of fur lodged in a tree can be picked up as well, but in general, since the maps really aren’t that large, walking or sprinting around until you see the spooked animal icon pop up on your user interface will get the job done.Even with these variables, there’s basically nothing to differentiate hunting deer or water buffalo. Every hunt feels the same, and the experience is so shallow and stripped-down that it’s difficult to imagine players seeing Big Game Hunter 2010 through to the end of its short run. As long as you don’t sprint directly at your targets and possess the most basic of aiming skills, you’re going to succeed in this game.

The Tier 1 Operator functions on a plane of existence above and beyond even the most highly trained Special Operations Forces. Their exact numbers, while classified, hover in the low hundreds. They are living, breathing, precision instruments of war. They are experts in the application of violence. The new Medal of Honor is inspired by and has been developed with Tier 1 Operators from this elite community. Players will step into the boots of these warriors and apply their unique skill sets to a new enemy in the most unforgiving and hostile battlefield conditions of present day Afghanistan. FIFA 10 XBOX Game

FIFA 10 XBOX Game Play for Free

FIFA 10 makes a mockery of their pretentions, showing at once how far videogames have come in 10 years and how far FIFA has come from its days as a critical kick-bag. It’s astounding in its depiction of the big game, its matches flowing with all the drama, grace and random action of the real deal. This is football as you know and love it, and it’s an absolute joy to play.

FIFA 10 is a culmination of the efforts poured into the franchise since it made the leap to the current generation, efforts that have helped it leapfrog Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer and become the premier football game these past couple of years. If FIFA 08 and 09 were statements of intent, then this is the killing blow, and it’s going to take something extraordinary for anything to come close to this for some time to come.

So what’s changed this time round? The additions for FIFA 10 are small but numerate, and features that might seem petty on paper all conspire together to create an experience that, after time, feels far removed from last year’s game. The headline improvement is no doubt the 360-degree dribbling, freeing players from the eight-point axis that’s previously constrained them and allowing for more flexible football.

But it’s the subtler, less headline-worthy tweaks that make all the difference to the game. There’s more urgency to the way players behave, whether that’s defenders changing their positioning in reaction to the flow of the game, an attacking player showing more nous in their off-the-ball run or someone making a desperate lunge to keep the ball in play.

Tie this in with improved ball physics, wherein lofted and through balls are more reliable than ever before, and it results in a game that behaves exactly as you’d expect a real game of football to play out. This fidelity conversely makes FIFA 10 easier to play, and more importantly it’s much more enjoyable than previous FIFAs. Whereas the realism of FIFA 09 was often stilted by inconsistencies, here it’s a more cohesive and coherent whole, with the journey started by EA Sports with FIFA 07 now feeling complete.

What really impresses is the range of styles the gameplay model facilitates – pit two top tier teams such as Chelsea and Man United against each other and the quality on the pitch shines through in various different ways, whether it’s the way Nani or Zhirkov bound down the side-lines or the likes of Drogba and Berbatov anchor themselves in the box, holding back defenders and controlling the ball with a muscular grace.

Bulletstorm XBOX Game

Bulletstorm XBOX Download Game

Bulletstorm’s premise is original enough. Set in a space-faring future full of pirates and American Civil War cliches, Bulletstorm tells the story of Grayson Hunt, a former Confederate operative turned outlaw. Grayson has spent his post-Confederacy time harassing his former commander and keeping company with his also-outlawed squad, Dead Echo. When a random opportunity arises to strike directly against the heart of the Confederacy, Grayson sets his ship on a suicide run and maroons himself and his crew on the planet Stygia. It’s up to him to get the survivors off the planet, and maybe find some of the revenge and redemption he so desperately wants in the process.

Soon enough, Grayson acquires a Leash, a Confederate energy weapon with an invasive artificial intelligence. The Leash allows Grayson to snag enemies and fling them into the air in slow motion, and its AI has been designed to evaluate combat performance – it rewards balls-out combat bravado in the form of points that can be redeemed at Confederate resupply pods scattered around the planet. By combining shots to specific appendages and/or bathing suit areas with standing and sliding kicks, the Leash, and various environmental hazards, you’ll discover a variety of named kill combos that reward more points than standard shots. The idea of upgradeable weapons and skills isn’t all that new or different, but Bulletstorm provides a welcome dose of functionality and suspension of disbelief to its combo system. The Leash AI takes all of Bulletstorm’s unique and genre-defying mechanical elements and makes sense of them within its own particular reality. It’s… smart. Who’d have thought, particularly given the throwback nature of Bulletstorm’s first person shooting? There’s no cover, enemies aren’t especially smart, and levels are a straight shot from A to B, but Bullestorm still impresses. In tandem with shooting that feels responsive and meaty, with powerful, interesting weapons, the combo system makes Bulletstorm’s combat a success.

Bulletstorm is also full of fantastic moments of spectacle in its well-paced story, from the collapse of entire sections of a city to more than one giant monster moment. Bulletstorm handles size and scale particularly effectively. There’s never a sense of disconnect between “the things what are big” and human-sized characters. Ironically, People Can Fly makes everything feel grounded.

Some of that grounding is provided by the moment-to-moment beauty of Stygia. Stygia is full of colorful, vicious life that’s taken over the remains of the pleasure capital of the Confederacy. Whether human gangs of cannibals, mutant tribes, or more horrifying wildlife, everything’s a hazard. People Can Fly deftly dole out bits of backstory here and there through character conversation in-game and random environmental details, establishing Stygia as a place that existed before Grayson marooned himself and his crewmates there. It has history, and that makes tourist’ing there interesting.
